The Best Natural Swimming Pools in Lanzarote
Many positive things are said about the archipelago of the Canary Islands; the multiplicity of landscapes and natural places to visit on each island of the archipelago means that time is short for everything there is to see and enjoy.
On the island of Lanzarote, in addition to the fabulous and unforgettable beaches, are located some of the most impressive natural baths, called “pools”, of the entire European continent.
These natural pools are the result of the work of the wind and the sea on the volcanic rocks in various places on the island; they are located on the shores of the ocean and with the beaches very close by.

Natural wonders of Lanzarote
Going to Lanzarote is a gift you should give yourself at least once in your life; it is a natural paradise of unparalleled beauty, where time seems to make room for a little recreation with the unique landscapes, the extraordinary beaches, the warmth of the people and many other things you will discover when you visit Lanzarote.
The volcanic configuration of the island means that we can find natural geysers, unique and exciting landscapes of striking colours, mixed with a variety of tourist sites that should be included in the tours, such as the Timanfaya National Park or the Cueva de Los Verdes.
It has spectacular beaches such as Playa de las Conchas, Playa Grande and Famara, as well as Costa Teguise.
Natural pools of Charco del Palo
If you share a taste or preference for nudism, be sure to visit these natural pools, as they are located in a nudist village called Charco de Palo, in the municipality of Haría.
In this area, there are three natural pools and it is recommended to bathe only in them, as the sea is not very friendly outside these spaces.
The surface is made up of white sand accompanied by dark-coloured pebbles and stones; the sea is very calm and peaceful in the pools, but behaves abruptly and with waves outside them.
The pools of Charco de Palo have areas on the rocks where you can lie down and sunbathe while enjoying the pleasant, cool sea breeze.
You can get to these marvellous natural pools by car, the area has ample and comfortable car parks; in the village of Charco de Palo, you have the basic services of attention.

Punta Mujeres
In this fishing village, there are also some of the best natural swimming pools, where the water has a pleasant temperature, which invites you to dive in and enjoy them.
The blue sky together with the sea of the same tonality makes an unforgettable and unique contrast with the dark grey of the sand of volcanic origin.
Man has made some intervention, placing stairs to facilitate access to the pools and the area has special areas for children.
In addition to enjoying the natural pools of Punta Mujeres, you can visit Los Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes, as they are just over 10 minutes by car from the village.

Cueva del Agua
With almost ten metres in diameter, this is one of the largest natural pools in Lanzarote; it is located in the village of Guatiza.
The access is from the village of Los Cocoteros, to then walk a little way to the Cueva del Agua; it is important to be careful when walking because the terrain is a little uncomfortable and somewhat slippery.
This is a rocky pool, with sparse vegetation and the presence of some sea urchins, caution should be taken and appropriate footwear worn.
After enjoying the Cueva del Agua, it is possible to visit El Jardín de los Cactus, which is approximately 10 minutes drive from Los Cocoteros.

Los Charcones
Los Charcones is located in the same area where Playa Blanca is located; it is made up of several pools of different depths and easy access.
They are surrounded by rocks, so the access is not very easy and you have to be careful.
There are several activities available, from just bathing in the pools and sunbathing in the surroundings, to diving into the water, from suitable places; although the water of these pools allows you to see the bottom, it is important to always be cautious.
