Famara beach located in Lanzarote´s north part of the island extends along almost six kilometres of coastline. It is located within the Natural Park of this tiny group of Islands called “Chinijo Archipelago”, in this fishing village called La Caleta de Famara and below Famara´s majestic cliff (“El risco de Famara”)

To reach Famara, you should take a flight from Lanzarote´s airport, 5km away from Arrecife. This airport recieves flights from the European Union, especially the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany.
There is a wide range of low cost flights, so we recommend you to search on specialized platforms such as Skyscanner or Momondo, in order to find the best options for your flight to Lanzarote.
From the airport, it is possible to reach Famara Beach by bus, taxi or in a rental car. Depending on your preferences and budget, you will be able to choose one of these options.
The most recommended alternative and the one chosen by most surfers who come to visit is to rent a car. It is not only the most comfortable option, rentals are usually very cheap in this part of the country ; You can rent a car from about 16 euros per day.
But you can also take one of the official airport taxis to “La Caleta de Famara”. For about 40 euros they will take you to the beach fast and safe. In addition, these cars have space to transport your own small surfboard, and if we are talking about a longboard better bring some straps set it on the taxis roof, if you are bringing it with you.
If your budget is more adjusted, you can always take one of the “guaguas” (that’s what we call the buses) that will take you from the airport to the bus station in Arrecife ( Estación de guaguas ), then take another bus to Famara Beach. However, this option is the one that takes more time and is advisable only if you arrive in the morning.
